Osadi recently attended the Seminar Sinergi Nasional: Mencegah dan Membasmi Pemerdagangan Orang dan Eksploitasi Pekerja, organised by the Department of Labour Peninsular Malaysia (JTKSM) in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

Held on 18 May 2026 at Dewan Auditorium MPSPK, the seminar brought together government agencies, enforcement bodies, industry stakeholders, and organisations involved in workforce management to discuss current challenges surrounding human trafficking, forced labour, worker exploitation, and employment-related compliance.

Addressing workforce challenges through collaboration

The seminar focused on strengthening awareness and cooperation between agencies and stakeholders in preventing labour exploitation and improving workforce protection standards.

Among the key topics discussed during the programme were:

  • Malaysia’s challenges in combating human trafficking and forced labour
  • The impact of international assessments such as the US TIP Report 2026
  • Employment scams and enforcement under ATIPSOM 2007
  • Protection of workers’ rights and labour standards
  • The importance of early detection, protection, and cross-agency cooperation
  • Current national labour and immigration concerns affecting employers and workers alike

The event also featured participation from agencies including MAPO, PDRM, JTKSM, and JIM, reflecting the increasing importance of coordinated efforts in managing workforce-related risks and compliance matters.

Reinforcing responsible workforce management

At Osadi, we believe workforce management goes beyond recruitment and operational support. Responsible workforce practices, proper documentation, worker welfare, and regulatory compliance all play an important role in building sustainable business operations.

As labour standards and enforcement expectations continue to evolve globally and locally, organisations must remain proactive in understanding compliance requirements and strengthening workforce governance.

Participating in programmes such as this allows us to stay informed on current developments while continuing to support our clients with responsible and compliant workforce solutions.

Moving forward

The discussions shared during the seminar reinforced the importance of collaboration between government agencies, employers, and workforce solution providers in addressing labour exploitation and improving employment practices.

Osadi remains committed to supporting ethical recruitment, workforce compliance, and sustainable workforce management practices across the industries we serve.
